asking for help with old account - bitcoin.cz, slushpool, around 2013-ish
Hoping to ask the experts. i had a passing interest in bitcoin a few moons ago. I recall hearing about this mining thing and then name slushy's or slush pool seems vaguely familiar. Anywho with all the recent BTC news I was curious if there is anyway to recall this wallet/balance/fractions of bitcoins. I'm not expecting lambo money, but perhaps a hotwheel's could be in my future. In my 2013 notepad file, which i dutifully named bitcoin password and wallet recovery.txt I have a string of 17 words and a alphanumeric number with dashes and reference to bitcoin.cz which seems to have changed ownership since I last visited it in 2013. Any ideas what to do with this information? Thank you!
New to Bitcoin Mining, Looking for an easy CPU miner to use with bitcoin.cz or ghash.io
Hi, as the title says i am looking for a simple CPU bitcoin miner to use with bitcoin.cz or ghash.io. I have tried using guiminer but it dosent work on these pools. any help is greatly appreciated. i dont mind using another pool but it still has to be CPU mining for the spare pc i have.
I've been mining on slush's pool (mining.bitcoin.cz) for a week or so, and I've earned ~0.065 BTC. Should I switch to MtRed?
I started GPU mining on my main PC a week ago, then I started adding background miners to all the machines in my family I have access to (my video editing rig, with 2 GPUs, a few office PCs with single GPUs, and a few other assorted machines with CPU miners). I'm now running 11 workers total, all on slush's pool. I just found out about MtRed. How are the payouts? I'd love to support the reddit pool instead of some other guy's pool, but I'm just too BTC-greedy to switch if it'll mean slower mining. So, should I switch?
If you have an old balance lurking around on bitcoin.cz and you haven't logged in for a while, make sure you claim your balance. Bitcoin.cz are closing old accounts and keeping the money. I recently received the following email:
Pool application periodically deactivates old user accounts to make database compact and reliable. If you will not use the pool in following 30 days, your account will be disabled and all remaining coins will be considered as a donation for the pool. To prevent this, just log into your profile on pool website.
Hello, I'm currently trying to use GUIMiner to connect to my workers on mining.bitcoin.cz (slush's pool apparently?), athough it as not shown that my miners have been active, or are active when I've already started the service. I do have it setup to a pool set as other' with the host as 'stratum.bitcoin.cz' and the port '3333'. What am I doing wrong? EDIT: I found and fixed my problem.
